ZZZZzzzzZZZZZ
I've been a fan of Sade since Diamond Life. Also, back in the 80's, there was this rapper, Big Daddy Kane, who perfectly describes Sade's new release:

"Your vocab, I'll only ignore
Be sleeping on your rhymes till I start to snore."

Please skip over "Soldier of Love". Maybe in ten years they will wake up and put out an album we want to hear again.

Just because you're a fan doesn't require you to give 5 stars to everything they do
That's the problem I see here is as I've often seen before with other artists; movie stars and singers. What happens is that people who become fans of an artist often become loyal to them to the point where they're willing to think only good of them no matter what; to the point where they're willing give 5 stars to an album they rarely listen to because their loyalty won't allow them to admit they don't really like it.

I'm a fan also, but I also try to be objective no matter how much it hurts me to say one of my fav artists made a crap album. If you liked Sade because of her down to earth seductive sound as witnessed in her previous albums, you will be soarly dissapointed with this one. In this album her seduction is gone and replaced with more conventional, childish, pop-like beats. Most of the songs are about lost love, but they are not at all soulfull. Instead they come off as desperate and depressing. There's nothing special about this album. It has no nuances. Any subpar artist could have done this. I expected more from Sade.

Her Worst Album to Date!
I have been a fan of Sade since she first came out, but I must say I was extremely dissapointed in this album. In my opinion, the lyrics on this album are weak and don't make any sense at all. The strongest song rythmically is "The Moon and the Sky" and the rest of the songs are boring. Maybe she'll release better material in the future!

A real sleeper!
I was a bit disappointed with Lovers Rock when it first came out but I grew to like it as a unique jazzy inspired albums with a great variety of instrumentation's. But Soldier Of Love is a true snooze-fest! These songs are dark, dreary, flat, boring, uninspired, dull, and forgettable! I only like The single which was a true misrepresentation of the album. I was surprised so many users who came on here praising this album. But time has told the real story. After Lovers Rock sold 3.9 million and stayed in the top 20 for 6 months, this album is already out of the top 50 and barely went platinum. Yes, that's right only 25% of the sales of her last CD! Something is surely wrong with Sade, waits 10 years to make a CD, only starts working on it a year before, and than cancels tour plans. There will be no tour to even support this album. She doesn't care about music anymore, and it shows in her music. Creatively and inspiration wise, she has nothing left to give.
