Influences are apparent, but who cares?
This is actually the first Muse album I've listened to in its entirety. The 3 part concluding symphony is definitely the highlight of the album. Unlike other reviewers, I don't have a problem with the sharp shifts in styles found throughout "The Resistance." I highly recommend this album to any lover of classic rock. Looking forward to delving into their catalog further. Saturday, July 31st, 2010

Creepy, yet excellent
Muse has made yet another really interesting album. Nice, strong melodies, good rhythms, the kind of sound that makes your hair stand up, and fairly creepy lyrics that sound like they're derived from George Orwell's "1984". If you can't buy this, at least borrow it from a friend. It's totally worth it. Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

Queen + Radiohead = Suckage
It's like Queen and Radiohead gave birth to a drooling, half-wit love child. Pretentious, derivative, over-engineered dreck. Friday, July 2nd, 2010

resistance
lovely, lovely, lovely. i love it from the beginning to the ending. it has so many musical elements- which isn't unheard of from Muse- and the lyrics are empowering. just to name a few: 'uprising' reminds of my "protesting" days (past and present); 'resistance' is definitely '1984'-ish; 'united states of eurasia' is vastly past due (especially with all the S*** going on in this world); 'mk ultra' is extraordinary (both musically and emotionally); 'i belong to you' is groovy, and 'exogenesis" parts 1-3' is awe-inspiring. if you haven't noticed by now-i truly recommend this album. "The Resistance"....of the Illuminati perhaps?
If you're aware of the Illuminati, then you obviously noticed the blatant imagery of this album as well as the symbolic song titles. I won't go any further...but I have to say that these guys must be very passionate about this subject. Saturday, June 26th, 2010
