At first I was a little hesitant about this. Seeing material that I already had in my collection on Hendrix made me pause. Throwing caution to the wind given the bonus tracks plus the additional unheard material, it was well worth it. True there are same titles and all but they're different from the ones Ive heard in the way it's played. Although these were additional takes that were recorded before official releases back in the day. I find them to be VERY refreshing. It has been great to hear these. I have no regrets in this purchase and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who is a Hendrix fan. You will NOT be disappointed ! Definitely will enjoy this for years to come. Love Hendrix and anything old in a new mix is always refreshing. No matter how many times you've heard it before.

My vinyl copy is nice and flat, excellent fidelity and noise free. Recently auditioned at a Soundsmith turntable clinic. Side a accommodating Peter's BEAUTIFUL strain gauge cartridge. NICE..... Content, it's Hendrix....and I'll NEVER get bored listening to him.

This is superlative stuff....exceeds all expectations. Jimi Hendrix was a truly gifted individual always expanding the limits of expression....this has the unmistakable mark of Hendrix on it...each song is fresh as if it were recorded yesterday...beautiful stuff...very enjoyable....deserves more that 5 stars...

This is a terrific collection. Most of the tracks have been available from other sources but unless you're a complete fanatic like me who owns every Hendrix title under the sun you probably don't have them and even if you do... the sound quality is extraordinary.

THAT is the good news. Bad news, I was dismayed to learn after ordering that every outlet sells a different version of the product. Walmart has it with a plastic jewel case (think I can live without that), Best Buy includes a t-shirt (yawn), Target sells a version with two additional tracks (say WHAT?).

I certainly don't blame Amazon, I blame Sony and Experience Hendrix for screwing everybody who didn't buy the CD at Target... which I did. I'll likely give the shorter version to some less discerning friend.

Listening to this unbelievable CD, it makes it even more of a shame that we lost Jimi at such a young age. He was getting better and better with each project. Sky would have been the limit if he hadn't died so young. This CD is a masterful collection of songs, with different twists on familiar songs. I would recomment this CD to anyone who enjoys Jimi's music, or simply like rock music at it's very best.
